Last Frost Had and Done?

I think last night was our last possible chance at a frost because April 21st is the Frost Date for this region and between now and then it should only be getting warmer.

Here are some pictures from this afternoon:

Below are the very first leaves-of-promise on the Green Ash:

The Henbit is in full bloom. . .

Dad and I worked out in the garden briefly this morning. He fixed one of the warped boards on the garden bed:

We also bought some topsoil and Cypress mulch from Ray's and applied it (as well as a side-dressing of cotton burr compost) to the Asparagus bed:

He cut off a bunch of the asparagus because it was probably 2 1/2 feet tall! Too big to eat, of course, so it went in the compost. The ones you see here I will probably snap off this evening to blanch and freeze them. Mom wants to do asparagus Maundy Thursday evening when the monks come over.

We also added some topsoil to the middle bed of the Western 4'x8's. . .

And laid out these rocks inside of which I'll be planting Lavender Bergamot (Bee Balm), which is a perennial. It turned out so pretty! I'm excited.

Did you look closely at the picture of the first apple blossoms? Here's a zoomed-in shot. . . The picture turned out to have awesome dimension:

And this is why I accidentally stepped on a honeybee. Mom said the moral of the story is to wear shoes out in the yard. To me, it is simply to watch where I step. Who wants to wear shoes in the spring? I'll just have to apply some Bee Balm on the bee sting and all will be well. Gnuck gnuck!
